Finapres is sponsoring the Amsterdam City Swim!

This year, Finapres joins the fight against ALS and is sponsoring a team in the Amsterdam City Swim on Sunday 3rd of September!

ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) is a deadly neurodegenerative disease of primarily the motor system. As motor neurons die, signals from the brain and spinal cord no longer reach the muscles. As a result, the muscles fail one by one. After the first symptoms, patients live an average of two to five years. The Dutch ALS Foundation funds scientific research into the cause and treatment of ALS. Therefore, the foundation wants to raise as much money as possible, for research and to improve the quality of life of ALS patients.

In some of the research into ALS that has been done, automatic dysfunction has been studied. Finapres devices are developed for measuring and monitoring continuous blood pressure and are already used in studies where autonomic dysfunction has been investigated. Also, Finapres devices are used by cardiologists, neurologists and researchers to better understand autonomic failure.

Finapres feels committed to ALS and to the people suffering from ALS. We are dedicated to help raising money for more scientific research so that ALS can be cured or prevented in the future.

Jump into the Amsterdam canals on Sunday 3rd of September against ALS! Together, swimming will raise as much money as possible to help eradicate the deadly disease ALS from the world. Sign up or donate!
